Keroku is a Discord bot and a website with a dashboard. This page lists what each stores. Both use one PostgreSQL database run by the Keroku operator.
What the bot stores
- Moderation cases: server id, case number, action, member id, moderator id, reason, duration and time. Kept forever, because a case record that can disappear is not a record.
- Reason edits: editor id, old and new reason, time. Kept forever.
- Server settings: channel ids, escalation steps, automod and raid settings. Kept until changed.
- Pending timed actions such as temporary bans. Kept 30 days after they finish.
- Servers the bot is in: id, name, icon, owner id and member count. Deleted when the bot leaves the server.
- Interaction ids already handled, so a repeated command does not act twice. Kept 24 hours.
Message content is never written to the database. When a server sets a log channel and the Message Content intent is on, Keroku keeps recent message text in memory only, for up to an hour, so a delete log can show what was deleted.
What the dashboard stores
- Your login: Discord user id, username, display name, avatar, the list of servers you are in, and an encrypted Discord access token limited to reading your profile and server list. Kept until the login expires, at most 7 days, or until you log out.
- Dashboard activity: which setting you changed in which server, the values before and after, and when. Kept 180 days and shown to the server's managers.
The dashboard sets one cookie, holding a random login id. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Who sees it
Cases and settings of a server are visible to its members with the matching Discord permissions, through the bot and the dashboard. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties. Discord itself receives what the bot sends to it.
Removal
Removing Keroku from a server deletes its row from the server list. Cases stay, because they are the server's record. Logging out deletes your dashboard login at once. To ask about other data tied to your user id, contact the Keroku operator.
